Today, as intangible cultural heritage meets contemporary living, and traditional patterns meet design, technology and new consumption scenarios, how many new possibilities can Zhuang brocade be re-created into?
Let Zhuang brocade step out of the display case and into everyday life. Let heritage not only be seen, but used, loved and shared.
To this end, Laibin City is launching the 2026 "Splendid Laibin · A New Life for Heritage" Splendid China Zhuang Brocade Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. We look forward to bringing together outstanding design and technology talent from across the country (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions) to uncover cultural and creative projects with potential that fuse "Zhuang brocade + culture + technology," and to drive the high-quality development of the "Zhuang brocade cultural industry." Through the competition we aim to strengthen national cultural confidence, bring Chinese culture into countless homes through a wide range of products, and establish this competition as a benchmark project for Laibin City's integrated development of "Zhuang brocade culture + the silk and cocoon industry."

Theme 1: Creativity Enriches Everyday Life
What we hope to see is not merely "products with Zhuang brocade patterns on them." We hope that design will truly enter life today. Home, office, travel, cultural tourism, city gifts... starting from the real needs of different groups of people, we want works that simultaneously carry: heritage continuity × cultural resonance × practicality × functionality, so that Zhuang brocade moves from being a "cultural symbol" to becoming a living aesthetic that can actually be used.
Theme 2: Technology Meets Culture
Technology is not about adding a dazzling shell to traditional culture. It is about understanding, expressing and experiencing culture in new ways. We look forward to AI, AR/VR, digital design, virtual wearables, dynamic visuals and other technologies making genuine connections with Zhuang brocade culture, enabling traditional patterns, craftsmanship and cultural resources to achieve a new "intelligent transformation." Using today's technology to tell stories a thousand years old.
