Fu Yonggang
Fu Yonggang received his Ph.D. in Art Philosophy from Inter America University, USA. He received many art awards while studying at the Academy of Art, including the first prize of the National Artist Award. He is an internationally experienced calligrapher and painter who has held numerous solo exhibitions and participated in exhibitions and tours organized by the National Art Gallery since the 1970s. For decades, he has traveled extensively to Asian and European countries, holding solo exhibitions and modern calligraphy exhibitions there, presenting his creative experience and observing the development of art. He has held exhibitions in Singapore, Bangkok, Taiwan, Beijing, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Henan, Guangzhou, Rome, Paris, Seoul, Tokyo, and other cities. In recent years, he has held major events such as the Malaysia-China Calligraphy and Painting Exchange Exhibition in Malaysia in 2003, the China-Malaysia Calligraphy and Painting Exchange Exhibition in China in 2004, the International Cultural Calligraphy Union Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur in 2005, the National Calligraphy Competition, the Ink Painting Exhibition, and other solo exhibitions such as the Florence Biennale in Italy in 2004, and the Modern Calligraphy Exhibition at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing in 2005. In 2006, he held a solo exhibition at the International Calligraphy Cultural Festival in Shandong, China. In April 2008, he was awarded the Gold Medal of the Asia Art Award in Korea, the Special Gold Medal of the Seoul Modern Calligraphy Biennale in May 2008, and the Gwangju Biennale in 2008. 2010, the Singapore Large Scale Painting Exhibition, 2011, the Beijing Biennale, 2013, the Qingdao Art Exhibition, 2013, the Chengdu International Exhibition of Chinese Calligraphy, 2013, the Jeonju Biennale in Korea, etc. In 2000, he and his country's famous contemporary calligraphers and painters established the International Federation of Modern Calligraphy and Painting in Malaysia and were elected as the national president so far. Now he is the Vice President of the International Calligraphers Association, Co-Chairman of Overseas Chinese Calligraphers Association, Executive Director of Overseas Chinese Artists Association, Vice President of ASEAN Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association, Chairman of Malaysian Chinese Calligraphy Promotion Association, Vice Chairman of World Calligraphy Federation, Chairman of Malaysia Chapter, Vice President of Jiangsu Modern Calligraphy Research Institute, Visiting Professor of Nanjing Art Institute, Art Research Institute of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics Visiting Professor of Nanjing Academy of Art, Visiting Professor of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Advisor of Korean Academy of Calligraphy, Advisor of Chinese Humanities Monument Forest, Chairman of Management Committee, Chairman of Shen Mu Yu Calligraphy Heritage Museum.
